You'll learn the history of the dishes, the background on the country of origin. Let's face it. There are tons of food tour companies out there, but most of them just skim the surface and give you a taste. You're getting the full experience here -- facts and all.

Clarissa Wei (founder)
Clarissa is a food writer who specializes in Chinese food and culture. She started her food tours in May of 2013, when she appeared in Andrew Zimmern’s Bizarre Foods and took him to ten of her favorite restaurants. Since then has been invited to share her expertise on CBS Los Angeles, LA-18, AFP/Yahoo News, KCET, CNN, the Associated Press and on various panels around town, including one with Jonathan Gold. She has also been regularly featured in the largest Chinese newspaper in North America – the World Journal. Clarissa currently works for KCET and writes for the LA Times and LA Weekly. She is also one of the co-founders of the Chinese pop-up, Xian Wei. Check out her works here.

Kristie Hang (tour leader)
Kristie is a food journalist with frequent appearances on LAist, LA Weekly, Huffington Post, Buzzfeed, to name a few. Her specialty is Southeast Asian food such as Cantonese/Hong Kong/Vietnamese, Singaporean, food. Having grown up with an extremely diverse background, (her family is ethnically Chinese but from literally all over the world), she was able to learn about how different facets of food and culture that bring people together all over the world. Kristie spends 3 months a year in Asia and has an affinity for bizarre foods. Whether it be yak meat, live octopus, or stir-fried bugs, she's always up for the challenge! Visit her site here.
